Letty and Pip find themselves in a margrave's gladiatorial dungeon, where they encounter Steve, an orobas, and a lot of other monsters imprisoned, but living quite comfortably, to entertain the human masses in staged fights. However, their easy life comes to an end when the margrave abruptly dies and his oldest son and successor decides to have all the monster gladiators killed.
